**The School & Location**

We are supporting a school in the Wollongong/Shellharbour region in their search for their new Head of English. The school is recognised for instilling in their students a culture of learning and deep enquiry; to be bold and curious throughout their lives.

**The Role and You**

Commencing as soon as possible (with a start date up to Term 2 by negotiation), as Faculty Head you will be a leader in the school community, responsible for the day-to-day management of students, staff, courses, and events for your faculty.

The Head of English leads the delivery of the NESA 7-12 English, Drama and Languages Curriculum and supports the strategic directions of the school through the delivery of effective teaching and learning programs for students in Years 7-12.

**Requirements**:

- Appropriate teaching qualifications in teaching English and NESA accreditation
- Experience in overseeing staff in curriculum, programming, student assessment and strategic planning.
- A demonstrated ability to collaboratively plan and implement high-quality teaching programs
- Building positive relationships among staff, students and parents/caregivers
- Strong organisational and management skills, including leadership and mentoring capabilities, budget management, deadline adherence and clear communication
- Knowledge of contemporary issues, theories and programs in pedagogy and adolescent development
- An active and committed Christian, with an ability to work within the faith framework of the school.
