**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Part Time Position - 22.8 hours per week
- Fixed Term until 4 April 2025
- Band 7: $60,848 per annum (pro rata) + 11% superannuation
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements available

Are you a qualified or experienced Strategic Planning Officer who is looking for a role with a great work/life balance?

Are you interested in being part of a high-functioning and community-focused team that provides customer-focused Strategic Planning support to the South Gippsland Shire?

As a Strategic Planning Officer, you will be involved in:

- Coordinating strategic town planning projects and initiatives within the department.
- Drafting and administering planning policies and assessing planning scheme amendments to encourage sustainable development.
- Effectively communicating with all clients to encourage understanding of complex planning issues and the reasoning behind decisions made.
- Preparing high quality community consultation and engagement plans/strategies.
- Evaluate, analyse and make recommendations on complex strategic planning matters.
- Represent Council at Planning Panels in relation to planning scheme amendment proposals.

**ABOUT YOU**:
Ideally, you will have a Degree in Town Planning or equivalent and experience in the strategic planning field.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the processing of planning scheme amendments and knowledge of the relevant Acts. You will also be confident in preparing and presenting reports to Council, submissions to the VCAT, and independent panels.

You pride yourself on your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and highly effective project management skills.
