Seeking a values-driven female Team Leader who will be responsible for the operational leadership of family violence at the Women's crisis accommodation.

The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven female Team Leader who will be responsible for the operational leadership of family violence at the Women's crisis accommodation and associated programs/ services to support the journey to recovery for female victim survivors experiencing or escaping family violence. The role is instrumental in providing operational leadership; incorporating knowledge and understanding of internal practices, policies, and guidelines, including Specialist family violence case management, outreach and afterhours response services ensuring child focused, strength based and trauma informed service practices.

You will successfully
- Family Violence service management including oversight over a range of internal practices, policies and guidelines, incl. case management and outreach services
- Provide high level professional leadership to the workforce and observe best practice management standards as required of The Salvation Army at all level in service provision
- Reflective practices are implemented for the team and contribute to improved outcomes for clients
- Develop the capability of the team through coaching and training
- Monitor and contribute to the health, safety and wellbeing of the team
- Recruitment of staff in conjunction with Family Violence State Manager
- Reviewing data, evaluation and feedback on service delivery with the team
- Assisting with the frontline implementation and review of practice model/processes and implementation of change
- Ensuring service delivery data is recorded and appropriately maintained
- Leading practice development for the team

This is a Casual position based in Surry Hills, NSW. We also have an available position located in Dulwich, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 6.

What you have
- Degree qualification in Social Work is essential and demonstrated experience
- Experience in the family violence sector and managing or coordinating residential care settings
- Experience in managing and overseeing case management and outreach support services
- Well-developed liaison and communication skills, including the ability to consult and negotiate with relevant agencies in the service sector and the public
- Demonstrated experience in effectively dealing with the impact of trauma
- Experience in identifying, developing, and working in partnership with others
- Relevant child protection requirements are obtained for example Working with children check
- A national police record check is required
