**Engineering Manager
**About the role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join the DP World Melbourne team at our West Swanson Terminal.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations and a key member of the site leadership team, the Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the safe, productive, and efficient operation of the Maintenance and Engineering functions at DP World Melbourne.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Managing the performance of the Engineering function
- Leadership of the Engineering team including a small team of highly skilled managers and support staff, as well as approximately 50 maintenance trades people
- Maximising reliability of equipment - quay cranes and straddle carriers
- Demonstrating cost consciousness in all areas of work, meeting or exceeding budget targets for operational costs
- Leading by example in the execution of safe work practices and ensuring continual identification and management of hazards
- Ensuring full compliance with OHS&E statutory requirementsDriving process improvements and efficiencies

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary engineering qualification or advanced trade qualification in mechanical or electrical discipline
- Minimum of ten years' experience in maintenance management
- Extensive experience in the management of heavy equipment workshops and with automated machinery
- Strong leadership experience in managing large scale 24x7 operations
- Industrial relations management experience in unionised environments
- Experience working within the container or bulk ports sector or similar industry preferred
- Sound understanding of financial and management accounting with previous experience in managing P&L responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of heavy plant and equipment, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance management plans and techniques
