**_In the role of Stream Lead Occupational Therapy, you will manage our growing team of Occupational Therapists across Melbourne, Gippsland, and Launceston and have your own small caseload clients._**

**The Role**

The role of the Stream Lead - Occupational Therapy is a diverse role comprising of responsibility for the ongoing management and development of the Occupational Therapy program and management of a clinical caseload. The Stream Lead will facilitate the provision of best practice therapy services by the Occupational Therapy team through implementation of the clinical governance framework. The role requires the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient service to clients and will be accomplished working with a multi-disciplinary team (both internal and external teams). The focus will be on the provision of person centred, holistic and goal directed care that promotes clients’ wellness and active participation in decisions about their care. Your well-developed skills in service delivery are to be shared with members of the Occupational Therapy team throughout VIC and TAS, through mentoring and coaching.

**_Your duties will include: _**

**Key Responsibilities**

**Clinical**
- Management of a small caseload of clients in line with BePositive and funding body requirements.
- Occupational Therapy assessments, intervention, and case management activities for NDIS participants and aged care clients.
- Working with clients to set and work towards their clinical goals.
- Functional assessments
- Assistive technology assessments and equipment trials
- Completion of housing assessments including supported disability accommodation,

supported independent living and independent living solutions.
- Sensory assessment and intervention.
- Minor and major home modification assessments
- Participation in client related case conference meetings with both internal and external multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain communication with all stakeholders including the client, next of kin and support coordinators/case managers to ensure the development and achievement of co-ordinated client

goals.

**Supervision/Management**
- Provide coaching and mentoring to a group of supervisors and Occupational Therapists
- Responsible for the performance management of the Occupational Therapy team including clinical performance and achievement of billable KPI targets
- Oversight of the Occupational Therapy team learning and development needs including the development and implementation of learning plans for supervisors and Occupational Therapists
- Participate in regular peer supervision
- Role model best practice Occupational Therapy service provision
- Oversight of the induction program for new team members
- Completion of performance reviews during induction period (3 and 5.5 months)
- Completion of annual performance reviews
- Effective management of annual and sick leave within the team

**Quality**
- The ongoing development of the BePositive Occupational Therapy resources and learning opportunities
- Identification of areas for quality improvement in the Occupational Therapy stream.
- Contribution to the BePositive quality improvement plan
- Working in conjunction with the Clinical lead to implement quality improvement projects for the Occupational Therapy Stream.
- Oversight of file audit process for the Occupational Therapy team including the completion of specified number of file audits per month.

**Reporting and administration**
- Maintain client files with all file notes, correspondence and reports uploaded to the clients file by the end of each day.
- Completion of a variety client reports within required timeframes.
- Effective management of caseload to ensure that all required tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Reporting on team performance as per employee probation requirements, annual review, and performance management where applicable.

**Organisational**
- Attendance and contribution to regular team meetings, including presentations as requested
- Assist in the development of BePositive services through the contribution of ideas for improvements and further development
- Completion of projects required by BePositive as requested
