**The Role**
Located at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Williamtown in Newcastle region, the Air Warfare Systems Program Office (AWSPO) leads and manages a program portfolio of projects and products in support of Air Force capability. AWSPO, in partnership with industry, deliver Lead-in-Fighter, Advanced Training and Test Environment and Combat Control Capabilities in support of Air Combat Group and Air Warfare Centre achieving their mission.

As the APS 6 Work Health and Safety Officer, you will have an essential role to improve Defence’s capability. In this role, you will perform and achieve work health and safety activities within an integrated workforce. You will ensure you have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

As the APS 6 Work Health and Safety Officer, you will build team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within the work unit. You will exercise the associated people responsibilities to achieve outcomes. As the APS6 Work Health and Safety Officer, you will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to issues.
