**Position Description**

**Reports To **Head of Digital Campus

**Position Summary **As an Audio Visual Technician, the incumbant will be responsible for the setup,
operation, and maintenance of audio and visual equipment for a wide range of
events and functions. The incumbant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth
execution of audio visual presentations, ensuring that all equipment is functioning
properly, and delivering high-quality audio and video experiences.
This is a hands-on position that requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills,
and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Role Management and**

**Review**

The incumbent will establish work performance goals with the Head of Digital
Campus within the first school term of appointment to the position. The
incumbent’s performance against these goals will be based on the key
responsibilities, qualities and skills associated with the position. Goals will be
reviewed annually, at a minimum.

**Position Relationships **- Principal- Head of Digital Campus
- Deputy Principals/Heads of Campus
- Heads of School and other members of the College Leadership Team
- College Information Technology Team
- College Facilities Team
- Head of Community Relations
- Community Relations Team members, particularly the videographer and

Content Creator
- College and Campus Administration staff

**Key Responsibilities Event Setup**
- Setting up and configuring audio and visual equipment for events, meetings,

webinars, and presentations.
- Installing and connecting audio and visual equipment, including projectors,

sound systems, microphones, speakers, and displays.
- Testing and troubleshooting equipment to ensure proper functioning and

optimal audio and video quality.
- Collaborating with event organisers and clients to understand their technical

requirements and provide appropriate audio visual solutions.

**Equipment Maintenance**
- Performing regular maintenance and inspections of audio and visual equipment

to ensure their reliability and optimal performance.
- Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions or technical issues promptly

and efficiently.
- Keeping an inventory of audio and visual equipment, tracking repairs, and

coordinating with suppliers for replacement or repairs as needed.

**Troubleshooting and Technical Support**
- Responding to and resolving audio visual equipment issues during events or

presentations.
- Mixing soundboards, play video recordings, enhance lighting, and coordinate

graphics as required
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems related to audio and video

signals, connectivity, and equipment failures.
- Providing technical support and guidance to event organisers and presenters

regarding the operation and use of audio visual equipment.

**Booking and Scheduling**
- Using an audio visual equipment booking system, ensuring responsiveness to

requests, accurate scheduling and availability of equipment for events.
- Coordinating with various sectors and departments of the College and external

guests and presenters to confirm event requirements and equipment needs.
- Assisting in the coordination of multiple events, prioritising tasks, and ensuring

timely setup and support.

**Collaboration and Communication**
- Collaborating with event organisers, presenters, the Facilities Team, and other

IT staff to ensure seamless integration of audio visual systems with the overall
event setup.
- Communicating effectively with other staff, guests and presenters to understand

and fulfill audio visual requirements
