**Project Downhole Geophysicist**

**Work Location**:Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

**Roster**:Monday to Friday

An opportunity currently exists for a Project Downhole Geophysicist to join our Perth-based Resource Estimation - Geophysics team which is responsible for the delivery of high-quality downhole geophysical data for use by the resource estimation, mine planning and mine geology teams. This position will be responsible for the development and delivery of downhole geophysical data collection programs leveraging off our culture of continuous improvement and empowerment to support the wider business as required.

**Key accountabilities will include**:

- Develop and deliver downhole geophysical programs, including data validation, processing, analysis, and interpretation.
- Generate high quality density recommendations for required resource models
- Provide downhole geophysical data support, in collaboration with site-based geoscientists
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of RC and diamond drilling programs for related project work
- Utilise programming capabilities to ensure that data analysis is completed in an efficient and robust manner, with high attention to detail to ensure that quality data is collected and provided to stakeholders in alignment with expectations
- Assist to develop and deliver learning modules to our stakeholders to ensure that appropriate expectations are set relating to the use and value add of downhole geophysical data
- Proven commitment to safety

**Qualifications and skills required**:

- Highly motivated with good communication skills and an attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and establish priorities
- 7+ years experience (3+ in industry including downhole geophysical data collection, processing, and management experience)
- Relevant experience working on iron ore deposits desirable (hematite and other bulk commodities advantageous)
- Advanced knowledge of downhole geophysical data collection, processing and analysis required
- Degree in Geology, geophysics or petrophysics (or closely related discipline)
- Additional post-graduate qualifications in computer science or related discipline advantageous
- Be expected to conduct themselves in accordance with Fortescue’s Code of Conduct and Values at all times
