**The Role: Mechanical Design Drafter (WATER)**

Are you ready to be a part of a dynamic team that is revolutionizing the way infrastructure is delivered, operated, and maintained?

You will be working within design team to deliver a globally recognised program of works under the NEC4 framework. This involves design, construct, and maintenance for the next 10 years across Sydney Water’s water/wastewater and recycled water systems extending from Sydney’s inner west out to the Blue Mountains and the Northwest Growth Centre; maintenance and capital works across Sydney Water's asset base including water, sewage, waterways, drainage and flood areas.

The engineering design team is the heart of the delivery engine. You will be leading the way in delivering our projects portfolio as well as assisting our Digital Engineering Lead in accelerating our digital engineering maturity.

You will be involved in using point cloud and digital data capture to design solutions for infrastructure projects and produce 3D models and drawing deliverables to direct and facilitate the construction of the facilities.

**Requirements**:

- **Full Australian Working Rights is required.**:

- **MINIMUM** 8-10 years in engineering design / drafting for infrastructure projects
- **MINIMUM** 4 years in the water and wastewater industry.
- Certificate or Diploma in computer aided drafting (CAD) or relevant engineering diploma/degree.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoDESK AEC Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Recap and Navisworks.
- **Advanced** knowledge using AutoCAD 3D (Civil), Plant 3D (Mechanical) and Revit (Structural).
- Knowledge of working with Point Clouds is Ideal.
- Experience in coordination of multi-disciplinary drafting design.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop general and discipline specific design documentation as required (concept and detailed design drawings)
- Support the Digital Engineering Lead in building capability and accelerating our digital engineering maturity (including creation of libraries)
- Work with the Digital engineering Lead to use available CAD software to automate and streamline the management and production of drawings
- Ensure consistency of design drawings in accordance with WRDT drawing office procedure and AS1100
- Deliver measurable benefits and outcomes for the program of works
- Export data using intelligent CAD software to assist engineers and procurement teams
