Position: Dispensary Technician

Location: Blacktown

Summary:
**Responsibilities**:
Medication Dispensing: Assist the pharmacist in accurately dispensing medications to patients, following prescription guidelines and ensuring correct dosage and labeling.

Inventory Management: Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory, restocking medications and supplies, conducting regular checks for expired products, and ensuring sufficient stock levels.

Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing patient inquiries, offering medication advice, and processing sales transactions.

Prescription Processing: Receive and process prescription orders from patients, physicians, or other healthcare providers, ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate.

Medication Packaging: Prepare and label medications in appropriate containers, including unit dose packaging and blister packs.

Compliance: Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, including record-keeping, patient confidentiality, and controlled substances management, to maintain legal and ethical standards.

Prescription Billing: Handle prescription billing and insurance claims, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to billing guidelines.

Drug Information: Stay updated with drug information, interactions, and potential side effects to provide accurate information to patients and healthcare professionals.

Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain dispensing equipment to ensure accurate and safe medication dispensing.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient care.

**Requirements**:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education or certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience as a Dispensary Technician or Pharmacy Technician is advantageous.

Pharmaceutical Knowledge: A strong understanding of medications, drug classifications, dosage forms, and pharmacy operations.

Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate medication dispensing and record-keeping.

Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach to provide exceptional service to patients.

Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with patients and healthcare professionals.

Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using pharmacy software and dispensing systems for prescription processing and inventory management.
