This permanent full-time role will work in our team-based care clinics to help coordinate and support the management of arrhythmia and device patients. The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse (Cardiology) is to provide an exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve high quality cardiology solutions.
You will use a systematic, caring approach to help improve both our patient outcomes and their experience working with colleagues to achieve efficient and effective management of the technical workload on a daily basis. In addition, the Nurse is responsible for responding to and resolving issues whilst providing a prompt service to provide superior patient outcomes and service.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Conduct pre-clinic reviews to ensure accurate time allocation and gather pertinent patient information for Cardiologist consultations.
- Operate computer-based technology and EMR systems, including conducting cardiac device interrogations and adapting to new software as needed.
- Perform comprehensive cardiac patient assessments, including risk evaluation, medication reviews, and initiation of evidence-based medical therapies under the guidance of the cardiologist team.
- Conduct patient debriefs post-consultation, ensuring clear medication explanations and addressing patient inquiries.
- Document consultations, device checks, and provide medically accurate letters to referrers, while actively contributing to the development of remote monitoring programs and service improvement initiatives within the practice.
**Who you are**:
- Prior Cardiology experience with expertise in relevant procedures, preparation, and adeptness in addressing common cardiac queries, especially regarding arrhythmia pathology and management.
- Demonstrated clinical assessment prowess and strong critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in both independent and team-oriented work environments.
- Effective task planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Dedication to delivering exemplary patient service and maintaining a patient-centered approach, along with the ability to adapt to varying workloads and demands.
**Other requirements for this role**:
- Eligible for registration as a nurse with APHRA
- 5+ years of nursing experience in Critical Care, Cardiology or Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
- Previous cardiac device experience would be advantageous but not essential astraining will be provided
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence and have the ability to work across multiple sites across Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs.
