Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Fibre Splicer & Tester to join our national Telecommunications business. This role will be a permanent appointment to the Fulton Hogan Utilities Team in Perth, Western Australia and will provide the opportunity to work on a high profile telecommunications project.

In this role you will be responsible for- Inspecting, cleaning and handling optical fibre cable and connectors- Testing and commissioning live fibre- Splicing and terminating optical fibre cable for carriers and service providers- Reading and understanding cable plans and designs- Exchange transfers and patching- Carrying out works in various enclosure types, internal and external- Produce test results in work books- Fault finding and repairs- Proven commitment to promoting safety, quality and environment compliance on site

How you will connect to the role- Certificate 3 in Telecommunications- ACMA Open Cable Registration with Fibre endorsements (essential)- Previous experience as an Optical Fibre Technician on a major telecommunications network (Optus, Telstra, NBN etc)- Experience in installation of internal conduit and mounting cabinets, and equipment (advantageous)- Ability to read and understand cable plans and designs- Current Australian Drivers Licence- White Card-
