**About the Company**

Joining the team at BlockTexx represents a unique opportunity to be a key member of a new, innovative and bold têxtile recovery operation which is committed to making a real impact on improving our environment. BlockTexx is a Clean Technology Company which diverts unwanted têxtiles away from landfill and converts the fabrics into high-value raw materials for reuse. Polyester and cellulose are recovered from têxtiles and clothing via a commercial scale fibre separation process.

A new têxtile recycling facility is currently being established in the Logan region of Brisbane. The facility is designed to initially recycle 4,000 tonnes of têxtile materials during the first year of operation and will be scaled up to recycle 10,000 tonnes in the first 18 months, prior to BlockTexx building a second 50,000 tonne facility.

**About the Role**

In this newly created and largely autonomous role, you will be responsible for undertaking a full range of bookkeeping functions associated with the operation. You will provide direct support to the Owners and Management with the day-to-day running of the business, as well as liaise with the Company’s external accountants.

Reporting to the Office and Logistics Manager, your core responsibilities will be to:

- Process and reconcile a range of accounts and financial activity including General Ledgers, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking
- Process and reconcile Payroll and associated payments, such as superannuation
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial management reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, Budgets and Cash Flow Forecasts as well as statutory returns such as Business Activity Statements.
- Prepare and consolidate financial data and reporting for management and external accountants
- Assist management with analysing and controlling costs as well as improving workflows and procedures

**Key Position Requirements**
- Proven skills and experience in the financial administration/bookkeeping field
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities and tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively liaise and cooperate with all areas of a business
- Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency with using Xero financial software and Microsoft Office programs, in particular Excel spreadsheets
- **Formal qualifications in the accounting/financial administration field would be well regarded but are not essential**_
