**Position Information**:
Menai Public School has an enrolment of 143 students and is located in a tranquil bushland setting in the southern suburbs of Sydney. Our school culture is strongly focused on learning, the building of educational aspiration, and ongoing performance improvement throughout the school community. Staff are committed to providing quality educational programs which meet student needs and promote growth and attainment for each child. Teachers are supported by curriculum leaders to embed evidence-based teaching strategies and programs. Ensuring the wellbeing of the whole school community is paramount in all that we do. The school applies principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning, with high expectations for student engagement and achievement. As a school community, we are committed to continuous improvement with specific strategies and systems for collaboration, the modeling of effective practice, and feedback. Every student is known, valued and cared for, and staff work collaboratively with parents and the community ensuring positive relationships are fostered and maintained throughout the students' educational journey.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Proven ability to undertake the complex leadership and management role of an Assistant Principal, whilst balancing exemplary evidence-based classroom teaching and data-informed practices.
- Outstanding knowledge of and proven expertise to lead curriculum implementation of innovative and differentiated teaching and learning programs that are informed by assessment and data analysis, to improve student outcomes in literacy and numeracy.
- Exhibited excellence in building collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders in a culturally diverse school based on relational trust, visibility and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to implement, manage and lead strong wellbeing and extra-curricular programs, resulting in engagement and a positive, inclusive culture across the whole school community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
