**The Role**

The Estate Manager role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the buildings, facilities and farm related activities across Mona Farm and its related entities. This includes managing vehicle and other building maintenance and repairs, livestock feed, fencing and water troughs, paddock and pasture maintenance, and performing farm tours. The role is responsible for managing a team of 1 direct report (Maintenance Assistant) and building strong relationships with all departments across Mona Farm and key external trades (electrical, plumbing).

**Role Accountabilities**
- Coordinate the safe and efficient operation of the Mona Farm farming activities, including livestock, paddock, and general farm maintenance. This includes the horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, bees, and chickens across both Mona Farm and Tidmarsh.
- Ensure responsible budget and stock management for farming activities, including livestock identification, accurate breeding records, and monthly inventory updates.
- Perform farm tours consistent with the Mona Farm brand and guest experience expectations and ensure the positive image of Mona Farm is upheld.
- Manage the rotation of livestock, including moving cattle in/out of the Woolshed paddock for events, and unlocking/locking up the chickens.
- Coordinate the sale of livestock to manage stock levels and maximise farm revenue.
- Adhere to all relevant legislative requirements governed by industry bodies including, but not limited, to LPA, Biosecurity and MLA.
- Maintain certifications applicable to the role including LPA, Biosecurity and MLA accreditation, chemical safety, and machinery use e.g. bobcat, chainsaw.
- Manage all aspects of the buildings and general facilities across all Mona Farm and related entities, including but not limited to, structural maintenance, electricals and plumbing, internet, lighting, other fixtures and fittings, commercial equipment, and company vehicles.
- Ensuring appropriate systems are in place to record, track and manage maintenance activities, including performing a monthly routine maintenance report.
- Coordinate work performed by external contractors to manage budget, timelines, and standard of workmanship. This includes sourcing multiple quotes for works above $1,000 and seeking approval for contracted works from Management as per the procurement policy.
- Respond to ‘out of hours’ farm and property maintenance calls as and when required, including notifying trades and emergency services, and attending onsite if needed to resolve time sensitive maintenance issues.
- Be a collaborative member of the Mona Farm team, building rapport with all departments and external suppliers to support the effective operation of Mona Farm.
- Develop and implement farming and property maintenance policies and procedures to maintain a consistently high standard and ensure all WH&S and sanitation practices are adhered to. This includes regularly reviewing procedures to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Garden, Housekeeping and Events teams to maintain shared equipment and facilities.
- Proactively identify property maintenance and repair works, with a focus on always ensuring the safety of our staff and guests.
- Ensure best practices are in place to reduce labour and cost of goods purchased and provide monthly budget tracking to the General Manager.
- Where relevant, manage weekly staff rosters and approve timesheets and leave consistent with relevant policies and procedures.
- Report any customer, supplier, or other complaints accurately and efficiently to management to allow for appropriate resolution.
- Display exceptional leadership and maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and guests as all times.
- Always comply with management direction, and in a timely manner.
- Perform other administrative duties required by the role.
