Black Hops Brewing Pty Ltd founded in 2014 on the Gold Coast and has their home base (HQ) in Burleigh. Black Hops has grown to become one of the biggest selling independent craft breweries in QLD and Australia. In March 2019 Black Hops opened a bigger Production Brewery and Taproom in Biggera Waters. Since then Black Hops now has opened a Taproom in East Brisbane and Queensland’s first dedicated barrel-aged beer taproom Haven in Burleigh Heads.

**ABOUT YOU**:
You must have experience operating and leading beverage packaging lines and be capable of mechanical repairs. This role can be high pressure so it is essential that you are capable of working well under pressure. You will be committed to product quality and have the attitude not to settle for anything less than our packaging standards.

**MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Facilities Manager**:

- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations related to facility management, including maintenance activities, repairs, security protocols, and environmental health and safety standards. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to procure necessary resources and services for facility maintenance and improvement projects. Manage contracts, negotiate terms, and monitor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Assess space requirements and usage patterns to optimize the layout and utilisation of facilities. Develop and implement strategies to maximize space efficiency while accommodating the needs of occupants and supporting organisational objectives.
- Working with our People & Safety Manager, Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures, crisis management protocols, and disaster recovery strategies. Conduct regular drills and training exercises to ensure the readiness of staff and occupants in emergency situations.

**Packaging Supervisor**:

- Assist leading and operating our packaging lines across all sites
- Act as the 2IC to the Packaging Manager, handling the supervision of staff on shift and reporting anything required back to the Packaging Manager or Production Manager if necessary
- Delegate and monitor operators tasks daily
- Ensure that Safe Working Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures are being followed by all packaging staff
- Ensure the relevant checks in the quality plan are made for all packed batches of beer and all data is collecting according to the plan on the day of packaging
- Report back to the Packaging Manager on any necessary changes in policies and procedures
- Practise, monitor and implement packaging hygiene and cleanliness on the line and lead by example
- Support the Packaging Manager in training, SOP development and inducting new team members on our policies and procedures.
- Lead the team on a daily basis to achieve KPIs set by Packaging Manager and Operations Manager

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience leading teams and operating beverage packaging lines essential
- A demonstrated safety-first approach
- High mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
- Forklift license essential
- Proven experience in managing facilities, including knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with facility management software and tools is desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of facility staff and contractors.
- Ability to identify issues, analyse problems, and develop practical solutions to address facility-related challenges.
- Proficiency in project management principles and practices, including the ability to plan, execute, and oversee facility improvement projects from inception to completion
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, unexpected challenges, and evolving organisational requirements.

**WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY**
- Assist in the implementation of the company’s Workplace Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, and Security Systems and Procedures.
