Divisional Kinship Engagement Coordinator

THE ROLE
This position will lead Divisional Kinship Engagement functions as well as supporting complex functions of the Care Support Helpdesk Team. This position will manage complex negotiation where required between stakeholders and be a key link between the Care Support Helpdesk and other Care Services Teams. The position supports the work of the Manager, Care Support and Engagement and works closely with Kinship Engagement Teams, Child Protection, Care Services, Out of Home Care Service providers and Peak organisations to support best outcomes for children in statutory care.
Critical accountabilities will include the engagement of stakeholders, providing advice regarding appropriateness of available supports and completion of priority work such as consultations and assessments for Kinship Brokerage.
The Helpdesk Team provides a critical role across all four Areas in undertaking care support activities for children in all care types with a focus of children entering care, to improve the consistency and timeliness of information, supports and document sharing, particularly critical identity documents for children in care such as birth certificates and Medicare cards.
A dedicated phone line operates in each division as a contact point to assist carers to navigate care processes and assist in identifying placement vulnerabilities and escalate issues/concerns on behalf of carers to the most appropriate program/services. This position is part of the roster for the phone line and where appropriate work will be directed to the helpdesk team.
