We are seeking an experienced Bushland Officer who is familiar with the flora and fauna of the Sydney sandstone coast and has solid experience in on-ground management of bushland areas. If you are passionate about plants and committed to the conservation of native flora then you should consider this position.
You will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of programmes for natural area management and managing the bush regeneration contractors and other contractors working on natural areas.

**To be considered for this position you will need to have**:

- Tertiary qualification in natural area management, ecology or equivalent such as a TAFE Certificate 3 in Conservation and Ecosystem Management or a Bachelor of Science/Environmental Management degree.
- Experience in contract management and WHS legislation compliance.
- Experience in financial management of projects.
- Class C driver’s license.

If you can demonstrate familiarity with legislation and government policies relating to natural areas including threatened items, enjoy a range of manual bush regeneration tasks, and have experience with office technology then we would like to hear from you.

**Things you will do**:

- Plan and implement on-ground natural area restoration work for contractors at council managed reserves.
- Ensure contractor compliance with the Bush Regeneration Services contract.
- Keep concise and accurate data records.
- Provide support and technical advice to a range of internal and external customers.
- Carry out general bushland maintenance duties as required.
- Assist the bushland team in a range of biodiversity projects.
