This position will be required to provide an after-hours on-call service (on an as needed basis) to staff and clients as part of a rostered on-call arrangement. Degree qualifications in Allied Health, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences (including Forensics, Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities. Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant authorising body for your profession.
**The key responsibilities of the Principal Clinician are**: - In line with the Forensic Disability Act 2011, lead the development of evidence based, multidisciplinary clinical practice within the FDS including clinical risk assessments. Lead, develop and co-ordinate the provision of offender-related treatment programs including anger management, sexual offender and other treatments. Provide expert advice and provide clinical and therapeutic services to FDS clients designed to reducing offending behaviour. Provide expert practice and policy advice on approaches to clinical practices within medium secure settings designed for people on forensic orders with intellectual disabilities and/or cognitive disability. Lead and oversee the implementation of interventions and programs in order to provide evidence-based, person-centred treatment, habilitation and rehabilitation services to clients. Contribute to the development of practices related to the support, care and treatment of clients. In collaboration with the Senior Management Team appraise the development and professional supervision needs of staff and develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate appropriate professional development initiatives for staff utilising a positive performance management approach. Effectively manage human, financial, and physical resources. Prepare and deliver on reports and research as directed by the Administrator.
DelegationsThe position holds human resource delegations.The Principal Clinician will exercise specific powers or functions as conferred by a declaration, appointment, or delegation under the Forensic Disability Act 2011.
