**About the Role**

The Manager Commerical Road Operations sits within the Regional Transport Division (Maintenance Delivery) and is a technical expert seeking to maximise value for money outcomes in the engagement of new suppliers and during the execution of relevant contracts. The Manager Commercial Road Operations builds effective partnerships with other business areas, the Procurement Team, Project Managers and Contractors.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Provides principal and authoritative operational and maintenance advice relating to commercial matters of private roads as well as the management of assets including transfer and integration requirements.
- The incumbent manages operational and maintenance aspects of contractual arrangements for the Western Road Upgrade PPP (including monitoring compliance) and advising on negotiating maintenance amendments to legal agreements for the Western Road Upgrade PPP.
- Prepares briefs, cabinet submissions and correspondence in relation to the operational aspects of commercial roads and the transfer and integration of DoT assets.
- Develops and implements effective partnerships to collaborate and consult with internal DoT stakeholders as well as other Government departments and private sector parties in respect of matters relating to the operational aspects of Commercial Roads as well as the transfer and integration of major agency projects impacting DoT assets.
- Provides professional leadership and development of staff in asset management, procurement of Capex and Opex projects in the order of multi-million dollars, as well as the management of various complex commercial contracts.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Extensive contract management experience in resolution of complex contractual claims.

**Desirable**
- ** **Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, law, commerce or a related discipline.
