**About the role**

We currently have an opening for a Full-Time or Casual or Part-Time qualified butchers and a Full-Time apprentice to join our team. We look for passionate, hardworking team players that can also think on their feet and be adaptable. The successful applicants will need to assist the team in the daily upkeep and set up of the shop display, including slicing, prepping, breaking whole bodies, and also providing over the counter customer service and advice.

The successful applicant will:

- Assist with preparing, breaking down and cutting meat
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Assist to develop, prepare and produce fresh sausages
- Prepare hams and bacon for in-house smoking
- Ensure work areas are clean and compliant with all food safety and hygiene standards
- Ensure consistently high product standard
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in all areas of the business
- Execute proper storage, stock rotation and stocktaking procedures
- Adhere to uniform standards

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

- Full Australian working rights
- Have amazing customer service skills and personal presentation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Be available full time and willing to work on weekends if required
- Or, be available casually to work 1 weekend day in a 3-4 day roster
- As a qualified butcher, you will also need to have completed at minimum the Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher)
- Be punctual and a general all-rounder

**The Farmer's Butcher** is our new butcher shop based in Brighton, where we develop & prepare a variety of quality meats for our customers. We are committed to providing a direct farmer-to-butcher ethos in our store, and for our customers to truly understand where and how their food is produced.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
