**The Hospital**
The Hospital is the major referral centre for North West Queensland. The hospital has approximately 80 beds catering for an area of 300,000 remote and rural kilometres with a population of approximately 30,000+ people.
Substantial focus in health care delivery for Indigenous Australians.

**Care and service is provided by a Director of Paediatrics, Senior Medical Officers, Staff Specialists and junior doctors in a 10 bed children's ward and 3 bed nursery.**

University affiliated and RACP accredited for Advanced Registrar Training in General and Rural Paediatrics with Perinatal component and for Core Clinical Training.

**The Role**
The position offers a unique opportunity to influence the further development and expansion of paediatric services within the region, while also managing diverse and sometimes quite complex paediatric conditions rarely seen in metropolitan centres. Offers a rich clinical environment embracing general paediatric medicine, community paediatrics as well as level 4 neonatology.

Some of the paediatric healthcare provision is provided to the wider region via telehealth and outreach clinics to towns and indigenous communities.

**Permanent full-time role on offer, 80 hours per fortnight.**
