About the role

As a member of the senior leadership team, the Head of Environmental Approvals and Land is responsible for leading the identification, coordination, and delivery of all necessary environmental approvals for the portfolio of exploration and construction programs.

You will provide deep functional expertise, working with multidisciplinary teams within the business and external consultants to ensure that relevant technical studies, surveys and supporting environmental approval documentation meet Government requirements.

**Your duties will include, but not be limited to**:
Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Executive team on matters relating to Environment, Approvals, Land access and management;
Lead and develop a team of internal and consultant specialists, coordinating the development of environmental management plans and technical reports required to support approvals;
Prepare and secure complex State and Federal environmental regulatory approvals;
Maintain business-wide standards for environmental approvals documentation;
Provide strategic, tactical and technical environmental advice to project teams to facilitate procurement of environmental approvals;
Ensure that appropriate interaction occurs with government, community and other stakeholders to satisfy environmental approval processes;
Work with engineers, consultants, delivery partners and stakeholders to ensure adherence to environmental approval schedules and budgets;
Manage activities associated with land access, acquisition and land tenure agreements; and

Support other environmental, approvals, and land access activities and initiatives as directed by the business.

About the person

You will be a seasoned senior Environmental professional with extensive experience in obtaining environmental approvals across highly complex projects within major infrastructure, mining, or resources sector. You will have demonstrated knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approvals processes and experience in managing relevant regulatory requirements, coupled with a background in project and contractor management to deliver team results in tight timeframes. You will have working knowledge of legislation and processes relating to access and acquisition.

Furthermore, you will have exceptionally strong interpersonal and influencing skills to achieve project outcomes, with the ability to develop and motivate a team to deliver on organisation and project objectives. You will be flexible, resilient, and understand the sensitive nature of working within a high profile project.
