The Behaviour Support Practitioner operates in constant partnership with participants, their families, allied health professionals, and support networks, ensuring a cohesive approach that identifies and nurtures participants' full potential. We offer training to support individuals and continually monitor and evaluate progress to ensure effective outcomes through a person-centred, strengths-oriented, and least restrictive methodology, all rooted in the National Disability Services Standards.

Reporting to the Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, you'll collaborate within a nurturing professional team to deliver behaviour support services, which encompass but aren't limited to:

- Conducting comprehensive functional assessments, including consultations with relevant stakeholders.
- Developing and communicating positive behaviour support strategies to empower client families and support workers in appropriately assisting clients with PBSPs.
- Continuously assessing client behaviours and providing recommendations for suitable strategies.
- Designing and conducting training for individuals and support teams.
- Offering timely guidance on responding to challenging behaviour in alignment with positive behaviour support practices, considering the least restrictive approach, identifying restrictive practices, and adhering to current legislative requirements.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Education, or other relevant allied health qualification.
- **Registered with the NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Commission as a PBS Practitioner - including Practitioner ID and hold Core or above status**:

- Over 2 years of demonstrated experience within clinical or practice settings in Health, Disability, or Community Sector.
- Proficiency as a Core or Proficient Behavior Support Practitioner (or equivalent knowledge and skills).
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret client records, plans, and documentation, conduct functional assessments, develop positive behavior support plans, and provide recommendations.
- Demonstrated capability to build and maintain influential relationships with diverse stakeholders, utilizing contemporary evidence-based approaches.
- Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, written communication, report writing, and evaluation.
- Sound judgment and evidence-based decision-making abilities.
- Capability to secure and uphold a valid driver’s license, criminal history check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, proof of work rights in Australia, and an Australian Federal Police criminal history check.
