Do you have experience or significant knowledge of the building industry? Do you have attention to detail? The role is for applicants who are expert in Building Inspections as well as familiar with the range of fire installation service types, the various products used in the field, as well as familiarity with the manufacturer's recommendations for installation of each of their products. As these are constantly being updated, the applicant must have experience with product specifications.
If you have a common sense understanding of buildings, a keen eye for maintenance and potential safety issues, this role is for you.
Do you have:
Experience in the area of safety, fire and maintenance, with exposure to Strata and Property Management Industry.
Inspect buildings to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and advise on building requirements.
Be able to analyse, problem solve and make decisions in order to complete accurate reports independently, and be methodical and efficient in managing your time and workload.
Diploma or Bachelor level qualification in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Building Surveying.
Minimum 5 years experience of residential/commercial building experience, understanding BCA, NCC, Australian Standards and being able to demonstrate ability to interpret technical documents such as plans.
Extensive technical building experience that you have gained through a trade or site experience.
You are currently working or have worked as a building inspector within the past 5 years.
Excellent communication skills.
Have competent level of computer skills and be familiar with Autocad.
Full driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
You will be responsible for:
Work unsupervised and efficiently, with mínimal direction.
Effectively plan inspections, conduct inspections and evaluate compliance and provide detailed reports for defective or incomplete work, and other reports as required, to meet Australian Standards.
