**About the role**
As the **Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager**, you will design, commission, oversee and share the insights and impacts from monitoring and evaluation activities conducted within Movember's Prostate Cancer Impact Portfolio. You will be focused on facilitating internal organisational learning from those insights and impacts, contributing to building the evidence of what improves the quality of life of men diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer, and sharing this evidence externally to drive knowledge translation into practice.
In this newly created position, you will have the opportunity to work flexibly, blending your time between home and our modern Richmond office.
**You’ll have the opportunity to**
- Develop a MEL Strategy for the portfolio by consulting with stakeholders, crafting a Theory of Change, aligning it with Movember's Impact Strategy and Theory of Change, and ensuring consistent indicators. Implement and communicate the strategy, accountable for its execution.
- Create and oversee MEL plans for specific initiatives like Disease Progression Prevention, Active Surveillance, Sexual Wellbeing, Clinical Registries, Personalised Cancer Care, and Health Equity. Partner with initiative leads, develop Program on a Page, manage external consultants, and ensure quality of deliverables.
- Promote knowledge sharing through plans for internal and external learning activities, aiding iterative learning cycles, conducting MEL retrospectives, contributing evidence to the Movember Institute, and translating knowledge to the men's health sector.
- Produce the annual Biomedical Research Evaluation Report, analysing funded projects' data, drafting the report, and coordinating sharing activities.
- Enhance MEL policies, processes, frameworks, and tools by actively participating in MEL meetings, advocating for their use, suggesting improvements, and representing best MEL practices within and beyond Movember.
**For this role, you’ll need**
- Possess relevant qualifications in public/population health, psychology, medical research and/or evaluation, implementation science or a related health discipline.
- Skilled and experienced in designing and delivering research and/or evaluation projects in relation to health problems.
- Skilled and experienced in monitoring and evaluation end-to-end project management (~10 years).
- Skilled and experienced in supporting internal individuals and teams from non-research or evaluation functional areas to understand and value MEL work.
- Skilled and experienced in the development of Theory of Change / Program Logics.
- Skilled and experienced in using a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Skilled and experienced in communicating research and/or evaluation results to a range of audiences using a variety of mediums and channels.
- Demonstrated skills in anticipating and solving problems.
**Bonus points for**
- A post graduate qualification in public/population health, psychology, medical research and/or evaluation, implementation science or a related health discipline.
- Experience in commissioning and working with external consultants.
- Experience working in oncology/cancer (particularly prostate cancer) and/or mental health would be highly regarded.
- Experience developing or working with outcome frameworks and developing indicators & measures.
- Experience working within, or knowledge of, a collective impact model approach.
- Knowledge and experience using psycho-social measures, particularly those used with cancer patients.
- An understanding of, or experience working with, PROMs data and oncology registries.
- Journal publications and/or experience in presenting at conferences.
- Experience working in a global context.
