**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Fellow to join the Clark Lab Group in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology. The position will be responsible for performing bioinformatic analysis of long-read single-cell RNA-sequencing to investigate the role of gene isoforms in brain development. You will also contribute to the development of bioinformatic workflows and tools for long-read single-cell RNA-sequencing.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Participate in research independently and as a member of a research team.
- Lead the computational analysis for this project within the research group and help develop and manage this research project.
- Develop computational workflows for the processing, integration and analysis of longread single-cell RNA-seq data. Characterise gene and isoform expression changes at the single-cell level during brain development.

**Who We Are Looking For**
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated researcher, with research experience in bioinformatics and transcriptomics. Your excellent communication and organisational skills will enable you to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, to meet project goals.

You will also have:

- Completed a PhD or made substantial progress towards completion of a PhD in a relevant area such as genomics/transcriptomics or neuroscience and evidence of independent research in one or more of these relevant areas.
- Demonstrated ability to code in popular language(s) such as bash, R or python and in the use of code repositories such as Git/GitHub to manage, track and share code.
- Ability to manage own academic research and associated activities including designing and performing experiments/analyses effectively and achieving project objectives.
