**The role**

As the Contracts and Procurement Lead, you’ll champion taking our contracts and procurement activities to the next level. You will have the chance to drive process improvement and help achieve our sustainability targets. Your finger will be on the pulse when it comes to emerging legislative and ministerial procurement directions. You will provide expert advice to our executive leadership team and partner with key stakeholders to develop and strive to deliver best practice processes and outcomes.

We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and ethical people leader who is hands on when it comes to driving outcomes, actively contributing to future business sustainability and supporting the delivery of the best possible value for our customers. You will be a resourceful and engaging team player who works with other key departments to deliver the best result.

You will be a resilient, fast moving self-starter who is committed to delivering the best outcomes for Gippsland Water. This role will provide you with an energising change of pace and the opportunity to be responsible for a diverse portfolio that includes all aspects of contracts and procurement.

**What you’ll bring**
- Leadership experience with a passion for motivating, coaching and developing staff.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and improving contract and procurement processes and frameworks, preferably with Victorian Government Purchasing Board Guidelines experience.
- Proven experience in contract probity and compliance assessment processes.
- Identifying and evaluating risk at a contractual level.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including the ability to interface with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels.
- Ability to coordinate and embed procurement practices throughout the organisation via the development of skills and understanding in key users.
