**The Department**

The SBS Ombudsman is an internal media ombudsman who independently investigates complaints about SBS content to assess compliance with SBS’s Code of Practice.

**The Role**

Reporting into the Ombudsman, this role will see you:

- Working in a unique part-time role with exposure to a variety of content - news and current affairs, television programs, audio, world movies, digital content - for the world’s most multicultural broadcaster.
- Managing the functions of the SBS Ombudsman’s office, supporting impartial investigations that ensure SBS maintains the highest standards of editorial independence and integrity
- Liaising with colleagues across SBS to ensure effective and efficient workflows, gather submissions, prepare research and reports, and nurture relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth function of the SBS Code complaint system.

**About you**
- You’ll have advanced stakeholder management skills so you can confidently and confidentially deal with people inside and outside SBS.
- You’ll be a great communicator, with very strong English writing and proofreading skills and the ability to undertake research on regulatory matters and prepare engaging written reports, including data analysis and graphs.
- You’ll also be an effective and efficient manager of internal workflows - with excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering the best experience for SBS audiences.
- You’ll enjoy working in a small team, with interesting content and great flexibility.
- Your journalism, media or legal background will be helpful (but not essential), as will experience in media regulation and content classification.
