**The Opportunity**:
An opportunity exists for a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Immune Development laboratory at MCRI, using human pluripotent stem cell (PSC)-derived lung epithelial cells to study respiratory viral infections. The successful applicant will undertake experiments to understand and control infection of human lung epithelium by a range of human pathogens.

**The role will see you with primary responsibility of**:
Undertaking discovery research using human pluripotent stem cell (PSC)-derived lung epithelial cells to elucidate mechanisms of respiratory viral infections
Performing pluripotent stem cell differentiations to produce lung epithelial cell lineages
Performing infections of PSC-derived lung epithelial cells with respiratory viruses
Designing and undertaking genome wide CRISPR screens to identify genes involved in infection

**About you**:
Relevant PhD/Doctoral qualification
Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge of lung development, lung biology, and respiratory infections
Experience with microbiology, especially virology
Molecular biology skills, including vector design and cloning
Experience with tissue culture and sterile technique
