Material Planner

**The Opportunity**
We are seeking an enthusiastic Materials Planner to join our team This role will work with local or oversea suppliers to plan and manage our inventory level and ensuring expedited supply of customer backorder lines in a timely manner.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Work with suppliers to understand forecast reports, past due reports and Supplier Information System.
- Lead and/or support the implementation of productivity and process improvements for Materials
- Prioritise responsibilities to complete tasks in a timely manner and produce quality work.
- Analyse inventory requirements that result in purchase orders, transfers & cancellation decisions that are in line with departmental goals.
- Identify suppliers with poor performance and lead corrective action calls to ensure compliance to Supplier Guidelines.
- Participate in and occasionally lead projects.
- Analyse data to identify issues and root cause in supply chain.
- Work with suppliers to expedite parts to limit stock-outs at distribution centres.
- System maintenance to ensure part setup remains current.

**What We Like About You**
- Inventory control, supply chain or product distribution experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Materials, Operations, Business, Supply Chain or a relevant field.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and functions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
- Self-starter, able to work with mínimal supervision in both team and individual environment.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Understanding of DRP or MRP systems highly regarded.
