Your Role

Our Risk and Compliance team has an opportunity for a suitably experienced Policy Governance Officer to join the team.

The primary purpose of the role is to support SJGHC to achieve its strategic and operational objectives through providing systemic policy governance and quality assurance over key policies, plus an understanding of the relevant legislative, contractual and NSQHS requirements and ensuring timely review and update of policies whilst maintaining compliance with our legal obligations, regulatory and licensing requirements.

The Position- Design and support the implementation of the policy governance framework.- Ensure new or revised policies and supporting documents are maintained in accordance with SJGHC’s policy governance framework.- Provide advice and contribute to the strategic and operational development of new policies, procedures and toolkits.- Contribute to the maintenance of the policy library management system.- Liaise with and advise management and Site teams regarding SJGHC’s policy governance framework- Identify appropriate ownership and accountability during policy development.- Identify and escalate to the Group Manager Risk & Compliance any breaches of key compliance obligations identified during policy development and/or review.- Monitor compliance with the policy governance framework, identifying areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of corrective measures.

You will have extensive knowledge and experience in policy governance, management and development, in particular within in a clinical health environment, along with high-level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate engage and liaise with caregivers at all levels of the organisation.

To succeed you will have the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver within expected timeframes and well-developed consultation and transparent decision-making skills.
