Greater Sydney Local Land Services (GS LLS) is looking for a Biosecurity Project and Programs Officer to assist the Invasive Species team with project management and the delivery of on-ground programs and advisory services for the management of pest animals, as well as to manage and supervise staff.
**Key functions of the role include**:
- Lead the Greater Sydney LLS service delivery projects being responsible for project management, contract development and budget oversight including phasing and reporting
- Prepare and deliver annual project management plans and other strategic plans as required, in collaboration with the Invasive Species team
- Staff management of up to 3 Senior Biosecurity Officers including the management of workloads, strategic planning and HR
- Oral and written reporting to the Leadership team and Board meetings as required
- Manage communications with the Invasives Species team and to provide media input where needed
- Assist in the management and organisation of mandatory training for the Invasive Species team
- Coordinate the delivery of outcomes in the GS LLS Regional Pest Animal Management Plan
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate and deliver relevant programs
- Assist in responding to ad hoc enquiries and attendance at emergency management activities
- Manage systems to track GS LLS biosecurity assets including traps and cameras.
- Ensure GS LLS remains compliant in its legislated responsibilities including the use of restricted chemical products and agricultural chemicals
- Attend community meetings where required and assist with bait preparation and major on ground programs as needed (if suitable training is completed)
