**Job Overview**

**Primary Responsibilities**

This role encompasses a range of tasks including:

- Install internal telecommunications and data cabling, equipment peripherals for computer networks, cable and monitored security and alarms, NBN, telecommunications network
- Installing fibreoptic cable (and hauling if required) for National Broadband Network N telecommunications underground and within commercial premises.
- Installing fibreoptic and copper cabling (coaxial) for telecommunications equipment in internal buildings and assisting the splicing element if required.
- Remove and replace old and faulty devices (e.g., multiports, switchboards) and copper/fibreoptic cabling as required.
- Understand and interpret drawings, specifications and technical literature regarding projects and positions/connections for cabling to be installed.
- Cable joining and cable sheath sealing.
- Locate faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as, voltmetres, ohmmetres and ammeters if necessary. Works may include emergency call outs after hours for faults found on night shift by other crew members on preconstruction.
- Attend to emergency call outs for faults found by preconstruction team while surveying and for any faults identified.
- Use and maintain the correct hand tools, power tools and equipment, and erect and dismantle all cable equipment (aerial, underground and in client premises), while ensuring all equipment is calibrated and tested correctly.
- Be familiar with different cable material types and substances and perform quality work for clients.
- Completing workbooks for each job / project with all data
- Follow all instructions given to ensure safe work environment and quality of works maintained.
- Assist Field techs with cable hauling, site preparation for hauling and with all day-to-day duties on site for preparation for hauling.
- Develop and demonstrate a good understanding of the current network and what is required of Complete Onsite Group

**Qualifications, skills and experience**
- Relevant Certificate III qualification with two years on the job training, relevant Certificate IV qualification or equivalent employment experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels within the business and other stakeholders as required.
- Sound interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills.
- Work with a high degree of confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment.
