Literacy Instructor

**The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is one of Sydney's largest frontline charities and has been operating for 35 years.**

Our mission is to provide assistance to address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty, as well as unemployment, faced by marginalised individuals. We succeed in achieving this through a combination of caring services like food provision, social welfare and education support.

**Our education team delivers** a high impact, phonics-based reading intervention program, called ‘Everyone Can Read’ which supports primary school children acquire essential reading skills so that they can re-engage with learning across the curriculum.

**The opportunity**

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Literacy Instructor to join our team and help us bring the ‘Everyone Can Read’ program to life at Lethbridge Park Public School.

Supported by the Literacy Program Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering the the program to small groups of 6 to 8 children and provide intensive intervention 4 days per week across years 2 to 6.

**You will**
- deliver classes Monday to Thursday, 9am to 12pm
- have completed a Certificate IV in Education Support, studies in Primary Education and/or other relevant qualifications
- have sound knowledge of Phonics and English language
- promote a kind, respectful and inclusive learning environment
- collect and report student performance data
- work with students to deliver positive learning outcomes

**Salary**: $40.50 per hour
