**Federal Government** client is seeking to engage an
**APS5 FOI Officer** for a 12-month assignment with potential extension in their headquarters in
**Geelong**.

**About the Role**

The
**APS5 FOI Officer** will assist the team in the administration of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets its legal obligations in relation to the
_Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) [FOI Act]._

The Agency collects, stores, and uses a variety of customer and corporate information. Information can be released under Freedom of Information, Privacy and/or Public Interest Disclosure legislation and guidelines. The
**APS5 FOI Officer** will administratively contribute to the management and development of the Agency’s information handling requirements.
The
**APS5 FOI Officer** will be committed to working in the Agency’s Freedom of Information team by preparing, managing and reporting on the Agency’s Freedom of Information Requests. You will have effective time management and administration expertise and skill and will work in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assist, prepare and collate documents required to make FOI decisions in accordance with the FOI Act;
- Assist and administratively manage the coordination of in-house and outsourced FOI services;
- Maintaining working relationships with participants and other internal and external stakeholders;
- Preparing and drafting a range of material including internal and external correspondence and formal decision letters; and
- Administratively assist in developing systems, processes and practical tools including training to support FOI handling and awareness.

**It is highly desirable that the successful applicant understand or lived experience in the field of disability.**

**- APS5 $55.24/ph + super (inclusive of casual loading)**

**- Temporary contract for 12 months, with possibility to extend**

**- Standard Full-time Hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm 37.5hrs per week**
