**Your Purpose**

As a member of Fonterra’s dynamic and responsive environment team, you will be responsible for leading a number of key environmental projects related to sustainability, risk mitigation, compliance and overarching environmental management systems.

Reporting to the National Environment Manager, the role is based in metro Melbourne with regular opportunities to travel to and learn more about the Vic/Tas manufacturing network through consistent interaction the broader environment team.

**The Role**

A diverse range of work will enable you to become immersed across different aspects of the Australian operations.

The role will prioritise and support the implementation and monitoring of environmental projects in manufacturing operations for the Tullamarine, Campbellfield and Bayswater cheese processing sites.

This will include a focus to:

- Identify and implement improvement initiatives;
- Drive sustainability improvements such as landfill diversion, and waste/resource recovery management;
- Ensure environmental risks are managed and each site is compliant with environmental regulations; and
- Support and embed cultural change to enhance environmental best practise.

You will be part of a friendly team who provide Fonterra Australia with technical support and resources to help resolve challenges and ensure environmental enablers and targets are met across the metro region, whilst also providing a workplace where you can learn and grow professionally.

**What You’ll Bring**

We are looking for a motivated person with demonstrated initiative and confidence to work independently, and the right people skills to collaborate with and influence others.

You will have the ability to multi-task and a proven track record for meeting deadlines. Proven ability to build credibility and trust, and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude will be integral for the successful delivery of environmental projects.

You will ideally have:

- Tertiary qualifications in a science or engineering based course, or proven experience in a similar role in the FMCG and/or dairy sector;
- Awareness of Commonwealth and Victorian legislative frameworks for pollution prevention, waste and water management, risk and compliance, and emissions reporting;
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products;
- Ability to travel regularly between the 3x metro sites and appetite to visit regional factories from time to time; and
- Arabic as a second language is a bonus.
