We are looking for an **Advisor Communities & Social Performance** to support the business in developing and implementing land access strategies and processes for exploration project work. You will work closely with stakeholders including Traditional Owners and Pastoral Land Holders, support development of land access agreements and support cultural heritage clearance surveys
This is a great opportunity for a Communities and Social Performance and Land Access professional to join a team with a broad scope and great variety. You will be part of a team responsible for CSP and Land Access priorities in Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory. The work of the role includes ensuring Rio Tinto’s CSP requirements are met when conducting Exploration activities, coordinating land access and agreement making requirements, prospecting permits and coordinating cultural surveys. This role will be based in Brisbane servicing the Northern Territory, South Australia and North Queensland. Travel will be required as part of your duties.

Reporting to the Senior Advisor Communities and Social Performance and working in the Australasia Communities & Social Performance team, you will be:
- Supporting the development and implementation of land access strategies and related processes that support exploration project work
- Part of a team developing land access, heritage and native title agreements
- Ensuring legislative requirements in relation to exploration, mining and native title aspects of law are managed
- Building a strong rapport and effective relationships with Traditional Owners, representative bodies, consultants, neighbours, community and internal/external stakeholder groups
- Organising and supporting heritage surveys working with Traditional Owner groups and heritage specialists
- Supporting resolution of concerns/issues/disputes raised by landholders
- Supporting the delivery of strategy, policy and standards development associated with the Communities & Social Performance area.
- Other duties as required to support the CSP Team’s priorities.
**What you will bring**
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Experience working with Native Title and Pastoral land access agreements including a good knowledge of related legislation
- Experience in and a culturally sensitive approach to, working with Indigenous communities
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in mining or related industry coordinating and supervising cultural heritage field surveys in remote locations
- Ability to multi-task and deliver work on schedule whilst balancing multiple external factors influencing plans
- Graduate qualifications in a related field such as Archaeology, Environmental Science, Community Relations or equivalent industry experience
