**About Monash Haematology**

Monash Haematology is a dynamic academic research organization that integrates the best evidence -base into routine patient care. It provides haematology care to a population of approximately 1.3 million, making it one of the largest services in Australia. Key leadership areas in clinical care and research include: a) Lymphoma and CLL b) Acute Leukaemia and Myelodysplastic Syndromes c) Venous thromboembolic disease d) Haemoglobinopathy e) Obstetric Haematology and f) Transfusion medicine. It is an active member of a number of research organisations including the Monash Health Translation Precinct (MHTP), the Centre for Cancer Research (CCR) at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research, the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG), the Children's Oncology Group (COG). In addition there is an emerging basic science research programme embedded within the state-of-the-art Monash Health Translational facility.

**About the Role**
- Clinical responsibilities are participation at our Specialist Consulting clinic/s
- May involve clinic management responsibilities including triaging of patients and clinician leave planning
- Supervision of a registrar/s in an outpatient clinic
- Support and assist the Unit Heads of the Clinical Haematology & Laboratory Haematology, Monash Health in the provision of high-quality Outpatient & Inpatient services with the Monash Health values.
- Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
- Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
- Be immediately available for urgent consultation and assistance in resuscitation and subsequent management of critically ill or injured patients.
- Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Clinical Haematology Unit, Monash Health.
- Support the Clinical Haematology Unit's outreach services within Monash Health
- Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health by participation in appropriate committees and forums.
- Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible Haematology Services within allocated resources and meets the needs of Monash Health patients.
- The incumbent will undertake the role in a manner that demonstrates commitment to the positive leadership behaviours of Monash Health, to the principles of working together and to Monash Health's Vision, Purpose and Values.

**What you need**:

- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- MBBS
- FRACP
- FRCPA (desirable)
- Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
- The incumbent must complete the Credentialling and Scope of Practice process prior to appointment and commencement. This will be reviewed on a regular basis.
- Working with Children's Certificate
- Membership with RACS and ASOHNS
