Hornsby Shire Council is looking to employ a Casual Bushcare Trainer. We are looking for an experienced, reliable and committed individual who will be able to supervise and coordinate the works of some of our Bushcare groups.

**About the role**

This position would suit someone with Bush regeneration experience who would be willing to share their knowledge in bushland management and restoration with our dedicated Bushcare volunteers.

Hornsby Shire Council Bushcare program is one of the earliest and one of the largest of its kind in New South Wales. Over 350 registered Bushcare volunteers contribute to the restoration of 66 sites across the Shire, stretching from North Epping in the south to Glenorie in the north and Dangar Island in the east.

This position will require weekdays and weekends availability. Bushcare groups meet once a month, based on a regular schedule.

**About you**

Essential requirements include:

- Long term commitment to Hornsby Shire Bushcare Program and its Volunteers
- Conservation and Land Management-Certificate III
- Experience in supervising bush regeneration sites, staff and/or volunteers
- Excellent native and weed identification skills
- A commitment to Council’s safe work practices and Council’s policies
- Be physically fit with the ability to work in challenging outdoors environments
- Current Driver’s Licence and own vehicle
- Current Chemcert-AQF3 level
- Current Senior First Aid
- Current Working with Children Certificate
- White Card (construction)
