**ABOUT THE ROLE**
A unique opportunity within the Wyer & Co landscape Construction team has become available and we’re seeking expressions of interest from experienced Quantity Surveyor (or Estimator) looking to join our Sydney team for immediate start in a full-time role.
You will be responsible for preparing project budgets for high end residential projects, from the project feasibility stage including estimating labour and materials, obtaining third party sub-contractors quotes and ensuring they are competitive aligned with current market rates. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders (both initially and during construction) including briefs, review and qualification before handing to the Project Coordinator.
The role will also require proficient project management skills including supporting the Construction Director and Project Coordinator with hand overs, ordering, scheduling and at times meetings onsite.
**ABOUT YOU**
- A Minimum 3 years’ experience in Landscape or Construction Estimating or an aligning industry
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification as estimator and/or Quantity Surveyor (ANZSCO Skill Level 1)
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction techniques, materials and best practices
- Experience working with various estimating software and MS Office
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate with the Construction Director and other company divisions such as the Landscape Design team
- High attention to detail and ability to estimate complex landscape elements
- Good knowledge of local suppliers and sub-contractors
- High level of efficiently and prioritisation
- Strong administration, organisation and project management skills
- Ability to work under deadline pressure, whilst adapting to changing requests
- Be able to interpret landscape and construction plans
- Well presented, great work ethic and enthusiastic
**DUTIES**
This position will include and not be limited to:
- Budget & quote preparations for high end residential landscape projects, including study of architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control
- Prepare indicative project schedules in conjunction with quotations
- Measure the cost of labour and materials
- Manage internal tender process (both initially and during construction) including briefing, review and qualification against current market rates to ensure our budgets are competitive for our clients and before handing to the Project Coordinator
- During construction, monitor changes to designs, assess effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
- Develop and maintain relationships with sub-contractors
- Ensure that all records are accurate and up to date
- Collaborate with Landscape Design Team and Construction Director to define project scope
- Manage and update material costs and base rates in company data base to ensure accurate estimating
- Attending meetings and/or site visit with the Landscape Architect/Project Lead & Construction Director as required
- Create and submit tenders (Preliminary Budgets) for potential new leads

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
