**Community Living Options has an exciting opportunity for a Developmental Educator to join the team at Regency Green Part Time.**

**About the Role**:
Under the general direction of the General Manager, you will provide specialist development assessments and intervention programmes for adults with disabilities and mental health issues. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide professional consultancy, advice, and educational services. Furthermore, you will contribute to service development, review and evaluation to support best practice and quality service delivery to people with disabilities and complex needs.

**You Will**
- Plan, develop and deliver a combination of individualised and group capacity building supports for people with very significant and often highly complex, therapeutic needs.
- Support skills development, teaching functional life skills including communication, social, self-care, daily living, recreation, employment, and community skills.
- Create capacity building programmes for implementation.
- Develop resources and innovative practices for people with disabilities whose placement or access to the community is at risk and continue to work with interagency stakeholders for long term housing options.
- Work with participants, their families or guardians and other services to assist participants transition out to their own permanent accommodation.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS requirements, reporting any non-compliance to the General Manager.

**Desired Experience**:

- You will have contributed to service planning, review, research, and evaluation in relation to individuals with disabilities and complex needs.
- Be able to identify networking opportunities to facilitate knowledge transfer
- You will have adapted communication styles and be able to identify strategies to improve communication effectiveness.
- Previous experience working in collaboration with Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners to ensure positive programming and person-centred active support.
- Understand compliance with NDIS reporting requirements.
- You will have understanding and awareness of forensic, psychosocial, and other disabilities.

**To be successful you will have**:

- Current NDIS Worker Screen Check.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Willing to obtain a psychological assessment if required.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence
- Satisfy all Visa requirements to work in Australia.
- Tertiary qualification that meets NDIS requirements for Developmental Educator including but not limited to: Bachelor's degree in Disability and Development Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or equivalent.
- Experience supporting people living with disabilities/mental health.
- Confidence using IT equipment 'smart device' technology, Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office Suite
