**A bit about the role**

An exciting opportunity exists for Bus Drivers to join the Youth Services team to support the facilitation of mobile programming from our state-of-the-art mobile youth facility - the **Wyndham Street Surfer Bus.**

The bus currently provides outreach activities and projects including programs, events and services that encourage and support young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work, study or recreate in the City of Wyndham using a community engagement and youth participation framework.

Did we mention The Street Surfer Bus is fitted with all the bells and whistles like WIFI, music and DJ equipment, gaming consoles, art equipment and five LCD screens as well as an outdoor LCD screen which can be used for gaming and movies?

You will be responsible for providing safe, careful, and responsible transport of our Youth Services staff members and partner agencies by driving the Wyndham Street Surfer Bus (Mobile Outreach Service) to a variety of locations within the Wyndham municipality. With your comprehensive knowledge of safe working practices and OHS procedures, you will confidently conduct pre-planned site inspections to identify potential hazards across sporting reserves, shopping centres and various events across high traffic sites. You will enjoy working directly with the community and your experience working with young people would be an advantage.

The Street Surfer Bus will be on the road four to six days and nights a week, targeting geographically isolated areas of Wyndham to engage and connect young people to our service. To support meeting the program objectives, you will have excellent time management skills and be available to work across all days of the week, with evening and weekend work required.

**What you will deliver**
- Safe and effective implementation of the Street Surfer Bus Program to young people in the Wyndham Community by operating
- Provide safe and responsible transportation of Youth Services staff and partner agencies to various locations across the Wyndham community
- Mechanical maintenance of a heavy vehicle such as refuelling, changing water/oil and ensuring the inside and external spaces are clean prior and post engagement

**What you will bring**
- Previous experience in driving a coach sized bus or heavy vehicle of similar size
- Current endorsed Heavy Vehicle licence (HR)
- Experience working with young people (desirable)
- Experience in working directly with the community including young people
- Ability to deal with a wide range of people coupled with minor problem-solving skills (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of safe working practices regarding Occupational Health and Safety issues
- Driver Accreditation Certificate
- Current First Aid (Level 2), CPR and current employee Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
