Council’s Operations & Maintenance team has a unique opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join the Saleyard Operations team on a part time basis, 2 days per week until 31 March 2025, then 1 day per week (with possible extra hours) until November 2025.
**About this opportunity**
The Yea Saleyards has experienced increased sales demand in the last six months, therefore the Administration Assistant - Saleyard Operations will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Coordinator Saleyard Operations.
The role involves a broad range of administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient running of the Yea Saleyard operations. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a dedicated team member who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved in all aspects of the job, including some physical interaction with livestock within the Saleyards. An ability to handle livestock is not necessarily required.
Key responsibilities include:
- **Data Entry & Record Keeping** - Assist the Coordinator Saleyard Operations to accurately enter and maintain excel spreadsheet data for audit purposes (EU Audit & templates for NLIS replacement tags). Ability to work with Council record keeping modules (change in modules) to enable continuous service to stakeholders without interruption to service provision.
- **Scheduling and Coordination** - Assist the Coordinator Saleyard Operations to schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and arrange logistics for events associated with Yea Saleyards.
**What will you bring**
- Demonstrated experience in a similar administrative position.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
