**About the Role**

The Research Assistant - Archaeology is part of a small but vital team that sits within the AMRI/Archaeology & Geoscience team. This is an ongoing part time role (14 hours per week).

The role increases the impact of science at the Australian Museum by undertaking technical work to support the Archaeologist in implementing innovative field and collection-based research in Australia and elsewhere.

The role supports archaeological fieldwork and research. Specifically, you will assist with the creation of new projects, obtaining compliance documents such as Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permits and completing internal Australian Museum compliance documents and assisting with the running of archaeological projects, including providing logístical support, and the creation of community-centred and academic outputs.
- Role Description

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $62,134 - $90,695, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (11.0% from 1 July 2023) and annual leave loading.

**Your Knowledge & Experience**

To be successful in this role you will be able to:

- Demonstrate experience in providing logístical and administrative support for the development, implementation, and communication of archaeological work.
- Possess experience in working with First Nations groups
- Understand culturally appropriate collection and research practices

**Essential Requirements**
- Relevant Tertiary qualification in archaeology or similar, such as a TAFE Certificate in Aboriginal Sites Work
