Council has an exciting opportunity for a **_Community Programs Officer Cadet_** to be involved in all aspects of delivering innovative programs to our community which strive to build capacity, enhance wellbeing and strengthen social cohesion. This will include working across a variety of target groups, locations and community issues ensuring you_ _gain hands on experience while studying part time_ _to obtain your social sciences or community development qualifications.

The Community Development team are responsible for the organisation, development, and implementation of community programs across the City and will work closely with the Community Planning Team to make sure what we deliver is effective and evidence based.

Reporting to the Team Leader Community Programs, this role will assist the Community Development team deliver a range of programs and other initiatives that promote community awareness.

- Temporary full time position for up to four years (depending on stage of course completion)
- 35 hours per week, including evening and weekends as required
- Commencing salary starting from $52,358.80 per annum (depending on stage of course completion)
- 11.5% superannuation
- Payment of course fees upon receipt of enrolment record
- Study and Examination Leave for face-to-face and online courses
- Structured Cadetship Program including a Mentor and Peer Program

**Please Note this position**:

- Requires a National Police History Check clearance.
