**Press Brake Operator**

Are you a Press Brake Operator working in a high demand and pressured environment where high volume and repetition is more important than quality? Are you feeling burnt out? If that sounds familiar and you need a change, then have a look at our role.

Established for 40 years, we are a family owned, custom machine builder, making our own machines for our clients. As a bespoke manufacturer, we always have new and different machine designs coming through our shop, literally nothing repetitive Our business is not reliant on high volume turnover of parts, so we aren’t churning out 1000’s of items per week, instead focussed on high quality, fully customised machinery.

In recent years we have been out sourcing most of our folding and laser cutting. However we have recently purchased our own laser cutter and so we now want to bring back our cutting and folding in-house so we have more control and that’s where this role fits in.

**What are we looking for?**
- You will be an experienced press operator, who is also willing to run our new laser cutter
- You must have experience using mild and stainless steel (2mm to 6mm) - most of our operations are done on 2-3mm material
- You will work mostly unsupervised as the main press and laser person but should also be happy working in team, having the assistance and support of our trade and engineering team.
- The ability and willingness to do some assembly work, programming/nesting for the laser and/or some machining would be ideal. However, depending on your experience and we will provide training and support to further build your skills and knowledge in these areas.
- Having a great attitude towards machine care and maintenance.
- Having a strong work ethic with the discipline to be reliable and punctual.
- Being organised and a good communicator are important.
- Strong Workplace Health and Safety awareness and understanding is essential
- A forklift licence would be an advantage but not essential.

Our standard hours are 6.30am to 3.00pm Mon to Thurs and 6.30am to 12.30pm on Friday. Opportunities for periodic overtime also exist.

This is a new role and we are looking for an experienced operator who can help us smooth out the start-up process. Wages will depend on your qualifications, experience and capabilities, but are likely to be in the $32 to $40 per hour range (plus super).
