We’re enabling vibrant and dynamic hospitality and racing environments that are safe and responsible, and our regulatory efforts are evidenced-informed, coordinated, and targeted to where the risks are greatest.
**About Sound Compliance & Enforcement, Liquor & Gaming NSW**
The Vibrancy Reforms commenced late last year after the NSW Government recognised the need to revitalise the night-time economy and boost the hospitality, live music, entertainment, creative and cultural sectors. A key aspect of the reforms involves streamlining the regulatory approach to sound management, which designates Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) the lead regulator for noise complaints associated with licensed premises in NSW.
Sound Compliance & Enforcement is a newly created function within L&GNSW established to oversee the regulation of sound management to enable a sensible and consistent approach to managing noise complaints associated with licensed premises across the state, facilitating an easier resolution of conflicts. This function is divided into three main areas of responsibility:
- ** Assessments & Education** - Initial assessment and triaging of noise complaints, including remedial engagement and education or referral for escalated action.
- **Sound Inspectorate** - Complex noise and disturbance complaints investigations and conducting compliance-related activities, including undertaking covert/overt inspections, engagement, and case management.
- **Sound Enforcement & Regulatory Interventions** - Preparing administrative decisions relating to formal disturbance complaints and other administrative decision-making activities and projects relevant to the sound management framework.
This position is in the **Sound Inspectorate**.
Our work is as diverse as our people and the NSW communities we serve. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the next phase of L&GNSW and contribute to meaningful work that implements new policy and positively impacts the hospitality industry and the greater community.
