In the role of Principal Advisor (Analytics), you will be responsible for the team to build and manage data assets, improve data quality, perform analytics and data interpretation to inform business decisions. You will support data driven decisions through the provision of data, insights and recommendations to stakeholders both within and outside the branch.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Manage a work group by providing leadership, guidance and management to staff to enable the development of a highly motivated and skilled team whilst fostering a safe working environment. Lead performance discussions and mentoring activities to build and support a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement.
- Develop, implement and maintain performance measurement and business intelligence solutions to deliver meaningful, accurate and timely data to support business decisions, business cases, and benefits realisation plans.
- In consultation with stakeholders, provide best fit data solutions by dissecting reporting requirements to enable data engineering and modelling in the Transport Data Exchange framework that support the creation of reports and dashboards in contemporary reporting tools (Tableau / PowerBI).
- Identify and assist in the development, maintenance and enhancement of predictive analytics and data models to measure efficiency, effectiveness, identify opportunities, mitigate risk and improve the customer experience.
- Represent the branch and build and maintain effective relationships to facilitate a shared understanding of data management principles to provide high-level advice and support to the division including highlighting opportunities and data limitations to support sound decision making.
- Undertake research to identify trends in service delivery and technology that could improve business efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and manage the program of work for the data analysis team and foster a challenging yet safe work environment that encourages commitment, quality service and a focus on stakeholder needs. Work closely with the Manager (Customer Data Platforms) in determining the performance, development and training activities of the Data Analysis staff and support the development of skills and expertise of the staff. This position reports to the Director (Strategy & Engagement) and has four direct reports.
