**About the Role**

We are currently seeking to appoint a Biodiversity Officer Ecologist with a large Government agency who will provide specialist advice on ecological matters to inform development assessment and strategic biodiversity conservation programs.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Undertake biodiversity assessments on nominated sites to inform development assessment processes.
- Provide strategic advice to inform biodiversity conservation policies and programs.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to Council policies with regard to biodiversity conservation and maintenance.
- Act as the companies representative for biodiversity correspondence.

**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Practical experience in and detailed knowledge of the Cumberland Plain, ecology, wildlife management, and botany.
- Knowledge and understanding of the assessment and review of ecological matters, including review and preparation of REF’s, SEPP’s, LEP’s, DCP’s and other relevant planning policies.
- Drivers License.
